The play-off run continues for the Berkshire Cycles Bracknell Bees this weekend as they get ready for the Britton conference Semi-Finals.

Following their first Play-off win since 2008’s appearance at Coventry with a convincing 6-3 aggregate win over the Raiders, the Bees now prepare for league winners Swindon Wildcats in a home and away series with the winner securing a play for both the Britton conference Finals the following weekend and the Coventry final four weekend two weekends later.

The Bees and Wildcats are no strangers this season having faced each other in the pre-season challenge and Young Epilepsy Challenge as well as six league battles. In league battles, the season series was tied between the teams with Wildcats taking the pre-season challenge and the Bees the New Year Young Epilepsy challenge.

Swindon Wildcats breezed through their quarter-final draw with Invicta following a 24-5 aggregate score while the Bees played an intense series against Raiders beating them 5-2 at the Hive on Sunday to win the weekend 6-3.

Not surprisingly, with easy wins for both Swindon and Peterborough in the quarter-final stages their players dominate the top scoring charts for the play-offs so far. Harvey Stead leads the play-off scoring for the Bees with 3 points with Roman Malinik 1+1 and Edward Knaggs 0+2 following close behind.

The Bees will be looking to approach this weekend with the same outlook as last weekend, respecting but not fearing the opposition. Head Coach Doug Sheppard explained; “It’s nice to progress to the semi finals but we can’t be satisfied. We need to embrace the challenge of taking on league winners Swindon.

Bees play at home against Swindon on Saturday at 6.00pm before Sunday’s second leg at the Link Centre on Sunday at 4.15pm
