Hockey fans from across the UK and further afield have the chance to win a unique piece of sporting memorabilia.
A stick used by Great Britain forward Liam Kirk in this year’s World Championships in Lativia is up for grabs and what’s more it has been signed by the player himself!
The English Ice Hockey Association (EIHA) Recreational Section sponsored the sticks of the GB team in Latvia and have given a number of game-used sticks to their clubs to use for fundraising purposes.
Liam Kirk’s fantastic personal performance, leading the tournament with seven goals and making the all-star team, saw his sticks in high demand. The Hockey Hall of Fame took some, IIHF took some and Liam himself has some. However there is one game-used stick remaining and this is now being raffled off for one lucky fan to win and raise funds for charity in the process.
Tickets are on sale now via https://bit.ly/KirkStickRaffle priced at £5 each and the draw runs through until Sunday September 11th.
EIHA Rec Section chairman Tony Boynton said, “This is the only one of Liam Kirk’s sticks from Latvia left in circulation, it is a fantastic piece of memorabilia celebrating a great tournament for the GB team and especially for Liam himself.
“The monies raised will be supporting English recreational ice hockey and 50% of the proceeds will also be donated to the UK Air Ambulances – supporting the 37 air ambulances across the UK which are all funded by charity donations.
“We hope hockey fans wherever they are in the world will be interested in this raffle and support a fabulous cause at the same time.
“If you don’t win this stick please look out for your local EIHA recreational team as there will be more of the GB sticks from the Worlds in Latvia being raffled by them.”
