After the double-header weekend against the Sheffield Steeldogs I had the pleasure of speaking to forward Josh Martin about him returning back into the line up after his injury and how he felt the weekend had gone.
FN: “How do you think this weekend went for you personally and the team?”
“It was good to be back after quite a bit of time out injured. Feel like the team played really well over the two days and in the end deserved to take at least 2 points from the weekend.”JM
FN: “What are some of the things that maybe need to be worked on for the upcoming fixtures?”
“We do need to be a little more clinical in front of the net and also limit the amount of shots that our goalies are facing by shutting down quicker.”JM
FN: “What are some of the positives you can take out of the weekend?”
“The main positive is that we were able to get some points out of the weekend and with Sheffield sitting at the top of table it also gives us the confidence that any team is beatable when we work hard and for each other.”JM
FN: “How are you feeling going into this weekend’s fixtures against the Raiders and Leeds ?”
“I think the boys are keen to add more points to the tally so definitely feeling good and looking forward to the weekend.”JM
FN: “How did it feel being able to get back into the lineup for last weekend’s games?”
“Was good to be back on the ice with the boys and help out where I can.”JM
FN: “How was the move from Bracknell to Slough for you personally?”
“It was obviously horrible Bracknell closing down. For me going from learning to skate when I was 10 and being mascot for the bees at the hive to then being able to play for Bracknell later down the line was amazing. But even with the rink closing we’ve managed to secure ice at Slough and although the drive is a little longer the rink itself is great to play in.”JM
FN: “Do you have a message for the Beearmy?”
“Thank you for your support each week, times have been hard with Covid and not having the fans in the rink was pretty dull. So to have everyone back supporting us is much appreciated.”JM
This Sunday the Bees are at home at Slough Ice Arena and have a spookily fantastic night planned for everyone to enjoy and something for everyone to do. The bees will also be wearing their Halloween jerseys!
Why not come down and take part in all the Halloween activities and competitions and see Josh Martin take to the ice again.
Stay loud and proud Beearmy and I look forward to seeing you all in your scary costumes!
