Head Coach of the TSI World Bees Ice Hockey Club Doug Sheppard today announces two further expansions to the roster with two players joining on a trial basis.

The first of those is London born 21 year old forward Mike Power. Mike played his junior hockey at Romford, Slough and Okanagan Hockey Academy before making his senior debut in 2016/17 with Swindon Wildcats NIHL2 team and a single appearance for the Wildcats in the final EPL season.

In 2017/18 he also played Okanagan Under 18s and for the Wildcats in NIHL1 and NIHL2 before moving overseas to further his development with spells at Utah Outliers and Bellingham Blazers in 18/19, Wichita Jr Thunder and Oklahoma City Jr Blazers in 19/20 and last season returning 36 points in 44 games for Pueblo Bulls in USPHL Premier.

Doug Sheppard spoke of his signing of Mike; “Mikey is coming off a good year in North America, we’re hoping his offensive production will carry over to the NIHL for the Bees IHC next season.”

The second player to join the roster on trial is 21 year old Garry Simpson. Garry is also a forward and a considerable presence on the ice given his 6’3 height.

Garry was born in Kirkaldy and learned his hockey within the Fife junior programme. His senior debut came in 2016/17 with the Kirkaldy Kestrels while also playing in Scotland’s Under 20 league. He repeated this playing partnership in 17/18 and 19/20 before moving to Dundee Comets in 19/20 where he played three games plus 12 for Murrayfield Racers.

Last season Garry was signed to return to Murrayfield Racers but with the cancellation of the season missed out on the full season’s play.

Bees Head Coach Doug Sheppard commented on Garry’s joining the Bees; “Garry will bring speed and size to our forward group, he will also provide a good net front presence. Garry is hungry to play a higher level of hockey in the NIHL for the next step of his development.

Mike stands at 6’1”, weighs 201lbs and shoots right handed. Garry stands at 6’3”, weighs 168lbs and shoots left handed.
