The TSI World Bees Ice Hockey Club are pleased to announce a significant step on our return to play journey as we’ve achieved Elite standard.

Through following the DCMS guidelines for elite sport our status has been awarded.

This means the Bees can now train behind closed doors in a team bubble of up to 30 players.

With our move to Slough now confirmed and a successful start to the Skate Hangar’s First Shift programme, we’re delighted to have achieved Elite status as this allows us to commence training as a squad and begin our preparations for a full return to play when guidelines allow.

This will be a massive benefit to the players in terms of conditioning as through no fault of their own it’s been a long time since they’ve put on the kit and skated in a team training environment.  This latest development will allow players the chance to return to prime conditioning ahead of the return to play when the time comes.

Bees Head Coach Doug Sheppard explained his thoughts; “Only COVID-19 will determine when we get back to playing games in front of our great fans but getting our Elite status is the first step. It will be good to get back on the ice with the players and a good opportunity for us to get familiar with our new home in Slough.

Keep an eye out for further announcements on our return to play progress.
