The incident after the game on 2nd January 2022 vs. the Basingstoke Bison occurred in the main arena lobby with an initial 2 people involved. One Bison and one Bees supporter.

We have identified the Bees supporter and taken a statement.  We have also interviewed Bees staff and volunteers who saw some part (or all) of the incident (2 of whom are Bees Directors) and also reviewed, in detail, the report from the Security Team.  At this stage, despite multiple requests for information, we have not been able to identify the Bison supporter involved.

The altercation was between these 2 individuals which left the Bees supporter with a physical injury that required some medical attention. We have no reports of any injuries to other parties.  Furthermore we have received no official complaints from either the Bison organisation nor directly from any other individual involved.

At this time the injured Bees supporter has not requested we take the matter further so we have to draw a line under the incident.  Should we receive identification of other individuals or other complaints we will naturally reopen the investigation at that time.

The club would like acknowledge that we are aware of a small number of comments on social media regarding some verbal abuse and threatening behaviour at the arena. After reviewing all previous match night reports we were unable to find any official recorded complaints or instances of verbal abuse irrespective of team. However, the Directors have implemented increased Match Night staff and the Security Team to ensure more visible presence on the ground. In particular extra security will be added to the standing area throughout the game.

The Club actively encourage all attendees to games to report any instances of foul, abusive, inappropriate or violent behaviour immediately to a member of Bees Staff or Security Team on match night so the offenders can be found and dealt with.

The Bees are a family and community focussed organisation and our local Schools, Community and 1st Shift Programmes are testament to this. The Club have a zero tolerance of foul, abusive, inappropriate or violent behaviour which will be met with lengthy or lifetime bans from our games.
