TSI World Bracknell Bees Head Coach Doug Sheppard today announces that work has started on his defensive core for the 2020/21 season with the signing of Harvey Stead.

The Reading born defenceman learned his hockey in Bracknell and has played all but one season for his local club. Aged just 24 now Harvey made his first appearance for the Hornets in 2012/13 combining 29 appearances with 13 Under 18 games with the Drones.

2013/14 was a busy season for Harvey as he first pulled on the black, white and gold at the age of 17. He returned 1+4 in 31 appearances for the Bees along with 13 Hornets games and Captaining the Under 18s team. A good season across all three leagues saw Harvey called up for Great Britain Under 18s.

In 2014/15 Harvey played domestically solely for the Bees where another good season saw him called up to GB Under 20s. 2015/16 was Harvey’s only season away from Berkshire where he iced for the Swindon Wildcats and again the GB Under 20s.

Since 2016/17 Harvey has proudly worn the Bees colours in their final EPIHL season, their two NIHL1 South Britton seasons and last season having a stand out year in the Bees inaugural NIHL National Campaign returning 6+19 from 47 games.

Head Coach Doug Sheppard commented on capturing Harvey’s signature; “Harvey has the ability to be the most complete Dman in the league. He skates well and has a high skill level but what separates him from most D is his physical presence. He’s heading into the prime of his career and I’m anticipating a big season from him.

On returning to the Bees Harvey said; “I’m really happy to be back with the Bees again next year. The atmosphere around the club is night and day from when I first joined and I’m more excited than ever to get the new season underway.

Thank you to everyone who voted for me towards the end of season awards and I hope everyone is staying safe at this current time and we’ll be able to resume the new season later this year.

Harvey stands at 5’11 and weighs 187lbs. He shoots right handed.
