E weekend started for the TSI World Bracknell Bees with their first trip to Elland Road to conclude their regular series with the Leeds Chiefs.

After 17.38 of scoreless ice hockey Roman Malinik opened the scoring for the visiting Bees which turned out to be the only goal of the opening period.

James Galazzi made it a two goal lead 2.30 into the second period and Josh Ealey-Newman opened the gap further at 30.54. Dominik Gabaj made it 0-4 at 31.10 and Will stead brought up five at 37.16 but the Chiefs pulled back a goal in controversial circumstances with the buzzer sounding their goal was awarded, however there was still a second on the clock despite the buzzer sounding.

While the final period didn’t produce any further goals it wasn’t with drama with numerous “coming together” events in the period seeing the penalty minutes for the third period alone totalling 74.

With a four point weekend up for grabs the TSI World Bracknell Bees welcomed the Peterborough Phantoms to the Hive for their final visit of the regular season.

The Bees took the lead early on thanks to a Josh Ealey-Newman finish from a Dominik Gabaj pass as the Bees enjoyed their first powerplay. Martins Susters pulled the game level at 16.53 but Aidan Doughty finished from the tightest of angles with 36 seconds left in the opening period to send the Bees to the dressing room a goal ahead the first interval.

The Phantoms had the better of the starts as the second period got underway but after weathering a spell of pressure Dominik Gabaj was gifted a breakaway opportunity and made no mistake at 29.10. 22 seconds later Ealey-Newman netted his second and 4.01 later Gabaj was, for a second time, offered a breakaway chance so scored his second making it 5-1.

A powerplay goal from Susters at 43.13 was countered by a 2 on 1 chance finished by Joe Baird at 49.51 restoring the four goal lead. Nathan Pollard scored at 50.46 but Josh Smith struck for the Bees at 52.53 to restore the margin. Slava Koulikov called a time out with a face-off the the left of Adam Goss and immediately pulled Ryan Bainborough. Phantoms won the draw and scored at 57.37 as Susters completed his hat-trick. Soon after they repeated the same play and this time Tom Norton was the goal scorer at 58.36. Despite Phantoms going with the extra skater to finish the game it was the Bees that came closest to scoring with James Galazzi passing the posts of the empty net on either side.
