Looking to start your Ice Hockey journey? No Experience? No Equipment? No problem!
First Shift is designed for children to take that first step on the ice, starting that journey of enjoying sport from an early age, developing skills and confidence in themselves. Ideally suited for children between ages 3 to 11, the children learn skating skills, Ice Hockey skills and confidence all while having that key ingredient- enjoyment. The on ice sessions are run by Bees Coach Doug Sheppard, with a Ice Skating Professional, Bees players and Coaches.
We understand that equipment is expensive and is a vital part of being safe on the ice but also feeling like an Ice Hockey player. We have equipment that is available to hire on the weekly sessions and a range of fantastic deals from the Skate Hangar Shop, exclusive for First Shift. We can also offer weekly payment plans for the equipment and are fortunate to have the support from local companies to make the equipment more affordable for the children, reducing barriers to the development of the sport at grass roots level.
The Bees Community Team followed on from the successful First Shift sessions at The Hive and now run on Wednesdays from 17.00 to 18.00 at The Hangar, Slough. If your child is over 11 but under 14, please email us and we can assess the skating/Ice Hockey ability to see if we can accommodate them into the sessions.
First Shift is run by The Bees Community Team, which is an independent body to The Bees Ice Hockey Club and please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you require any further information on First Shift.
