Twenty six year old forward Ryan Webb is the latest to commit to another year at the Hive as Head Coach Doug Sheppard concludes his latest signing agreement.

The Guildford born forward learned his hockey at the Spectrum before transferring to Bracknell in 2009/10 where he passed through the Stingers and Drones before making the step up to the Hornets. The reward for a point filled junior career saw Ryan called up to play for Great Britain Under 18s in 2011/12 where he scored once in his five appearances.

In 2012/13 Ryan made his first appearances for the Bees, adding two games to his almost point per game 32 game Hornets season. 2013/14 saw another single appearance for the Bees together with 18 points from 14 Hornets games before making the short journey to Slough where he completed the season in the EPIHL with 1+8 from 28 games.

For 2014/15 Ryan signed for the Wightlink Raiders and 2015/16 became his highest points season to date in senior hockey with 44 points returned from just 36 games. The sudden closure of Ryde Arena in 2016 brought to an end Ryan’s time on the Island but he was immediately signed to Streatham where he played 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19.

In the summer of 2019 Ryan signed up for the Bees and in doing so returned to the second tier of British Ice Hockey as he prepared for the inaugural season of the NIHL National. In 47 appearances last season in the black, white and gold Ryan found the back of the net 9 times adding a further 13 assists.

On his latest signed Head Coach Doug Sheppard commented; “Ryan’s speed and persistence cause a lot of problems for the opposition. He really settled in the second half of the season and was playing his best hockey when the season ended. It’s no surprise he won players’ player of the year as he turned up and played hard every night and has a great attitude.”

As he confirmed his return to the Bees Ryan Webb added; “It was a super easy decision for me to return to the Bees for a second season, I loved being back at Bracknell and I am very excited to carry on building from our fantastic end to last season.”

Ryan stands at 5’8 and weighs 143lbs. He shoots right handed.
