After a 3 point weekend the Bees have a tough weekend ahead of them as they make the trip up to Leeds today to face the Knights, then on Sunday they welcome the Hull Seahawks to the Slough Ice Arena for the first time this season. The Leeds Knights have had a great start to the season and find themselves currently 1st in the league table with 12 points after winning 8 games and only losing 2. Last time the Bees faced off against the Knights it was a close game as the Leeds Knights took a 3-2 victory at Slough after a very defensive game from both teams.

Players to watch out for against the Leeds Knight will be of course Kieran Brown and Mac Howlett. Both of these players last season made a big impact within the team last season. Kieran Brown has had a great start to this season as he has already picked up 23 points so far this season with 8 goals and 15 assists. However, Mac Howlett will be a massive part of creating opportunities for the Knights as well over the weekend and will be a key player that the Bees defence will need to shut down in order to minimise the Knights’ scoring chances. So far this season Mac Howlett has already got a total of 12 points with 4 goals and 8 assists.

The Hull Seahawks have also had an impressive start to the season and are currently 3rd in the league with only 1 point more than the Bees. They have won a total of 5 games and lost 2 games in overtime. Last time the Bees and Seahawks played against each other was on Hulls home ice and was after a long trip to Solway for the Bees and the Seahawks walked away with a 7-0 victory against the Bees. This time the Bees will have the home ice advantage at Slough and will be more aware of how the Seahawks try to get around the Bees.

The Seahawks are as of now averaging roughly 46 shots a game which the Bees defence will need to shut down any chances where Hull get close to the net. Hull have also successfully killed 25 out of 34 penalty kills they have found themselves on but on the other side with power plays they have only successfully executed 4 out of 19 chances with an extra skater.

One to watch for Sunday’s game against the Hull Seahawks will be Emil Svec who in 7 games has collected a total of 16 points with 11 goals and 5 assists and was a big player in the last meeting between these two sides. Someone else that the Bees will need to keep a close eye on will be Brock Bartholomew as he is an extremely good player defensively for the Seahawks but can also play an offensive defenseman role when necessary. Over 7 games so far this season he has a total of 8 points with 1 goal and 7 assists.
