Over the previous weekend, the TSI World Bees took on the Leeds Knights at Planet Ice Leeds but were unable to pick up the 2 points but put up an incredible fight during the 3rd period. Then returned to the Slough Ice Arena to face the Bristol Pitbulls on Sunday but the Pitbulls skated away with the 2 points in a 6-0 win against the Bees.

Leeds Knights 5-3 Bees IHC 

The Knights skated away with an opening period face-off win, and straight away began to attack the Bees’ defensive zone. The Bees were able to secure possession of the puck to test Sam Gospel but could not get the puck to the back of the net. Bailey Conger, at 9:44, was able to get to the back on the net with assists awarded to Noah McMullin and Mac Howlett. Shortly after the Bees were able to equalise after a chance from Josh Smith got to the back of the net at 13:19 with Will Stead and Dominik Gabaj being given assists on the goal. At 14:36, Mac Howlett restored the Knights’ lead with Bailey Conger getting the only assist on the goal. In goal for the Bees, Brython Preece faced a total of 20 shots on goal, while Sam Gospel faced 13.

Bees found themselves going into the second period and had to kill 2 penalties that the Knights then took advantage of on the second penalty kill as Matt Haywood managed to get to the back of the goal to make it 3-1 Bailey Conger and Ethan Hehir getting assists. Some more good chances went in favour of both teams and there were some incredible saves made by Brython Preece. But before the period ended, at 59:57 Matt Barron secured the 4th goal of the night for the Knights and Kieran Brown and Jordan Griffin received assists.

The Bees came out in the last period determined to close the gap on the scoreboard, and 49:58 Dominik Gabaj slotted the puck to the back of the net with Harvey Stead and Aiden Doughty receiving assists. This was the start of a real push from the Bees’ bench to try and secure at least one point for their efforts on the night and then at 51:09, Gianni Vitali with a great shot managed to get the puck to the back of the net. This was not enough though for the Bees to skate away with the 2 points and the final score ended in favour of the Knights.

Bees IHC 0-6 Bristol Pitbulls 

The Bees came away with an opening period face-off win but straight away the Pitbulls were prepared to attack for possession of the puck. At 13:12, Brennan Feasey got the puck to the back of the net to secure a lead for the Pitbulls. Then only a few minutes later at 16:00, Max Birbraer got the 2nd goal of the night for the Pitbulls with Adam Harding and Bayley Harewood receiving assists. 

A good start to the period for the Pitbulls through an offensive attack by Brennan Feasey again led to his second goal of the night at 24:09, but then at 27:58 secured his hat trick on the night to give the Pitbulls a 4-0 lead against the Bees. For the rest of this period the Bees were forced into a defensive style of play and were able to shut down the rest of the Pitbulls chances.

At the start of the third period, the Bees tried to end their silence on the scoreboard but were unable to get past Ben Norton in goal for the Pitbulls. Some good defensive plays were made by Stuart Mogg and Harvey Stead to battle for possession of the puck to get it out of the Bees’ defensive zone. Adam Harding saw early success with a goal timed at 51:25 with Reece Cochrane and Brennan Feasey receiving assists. Then roughly 3 minutes later, Brennan Feasey scored his 4th goal of the night to secure the 2 points for the Pitbulls.
