This Sunday, the Bees will be on home ice as we welcome the Peterborough Phantoms to Slough Ice Arena. The game will mark the first home game for the Bees since the tragic passing of Adam Johnson in last Saturdays game between the Nottingham Panthers and the Sheffield Steelers.

Adam and everyone affected by this terrible tragedy remain very much in the thoughts over us all as a hockey community. As a club, the very least we can do is offer our players, staff and fans the opportunity and platform to pay their respects.

We have again been contacted by fans with suggestions and offers of help to pay respects and raise funds for the family of Adam on behalf of the Bees IHC and the Bees fans. We are very proud of how the fans of the club and the wider hockey community are rallying together in the light of such awful tragedy.

Ahead of the game, we will be inviting both teams to circle centre ice and join together, with all those in attendance, to observe a two minute silence.

Bees players will be wearing ‘AJ 47’ stickers on their helmets and we will have these freely available for fans to collect to join them in wearing Adam’s number on the night.

We will have a book of condolences available for those who wish to share a message, send their support or simply write their name. This will be sent to the Nottingham Panthers on behalf of all fans of the Bees IHC. This will be located behind block E.

In the 47th minute until the 48th minute (when the clock shows 13 minutes to 12 minutes remaining in the third period), we encourage fans to clap, cheer, make noise or take a moment to silently reflect to celebrate Adam’s life. During this time, no music will be played during any break in play and no announcements will be made. We do ask fans to respect their fellow fans choice as to how they wish to pay their respects during this time.

Finally, we will be holding a raffle at the game to win a stick signed by the Bees team. All proceeds from this raffle will be donated to the official Nottingham Panthers GoFundMe on behalf of the Bees fans. Tickets for the raffle will be available from the Bees Supporters Club table.
