The BSC and TSI World Bees are delighted to invite you to a Race Night this November!
The Race Night will be held on Saturday the 18th November at Slough Irish Club. The evening will begin at 18:30 when we open the doors for a fun filled night of racing, socialising, competitions and more!
Tickets for the night will be £15 for those aged 13 and over and £10 for 12 years and under. Your ticket price includes entry and food on the night.
WHAT IS A RACE NIGHT?
Other than a fantastic evening out, a race night is a great way to help raise money for the club whilst also offering YOU the chance to win some prizes!
On the night we will hold 8 races each involving 8 horses numbered 1-8. You can place £1 bets on one (or more!) horses per race. There are no odds or form guides during the betting stage so your pick is all down to you! It could be your favourite number or the horse with the best name!
After the betting has closed, a race number will be drawn at random and that race will be displayed on the big screen!
SO WHAT CAN I WIN?
There are 2 prizes up for grabs for each race!
- Cash prize – Once all bets have been placed, the total amount bet on that race will be split 50/50. 50% of the takings will go into the fundraising for the night. The other 50% is the prize pot for that race!
Example – Race 1 takes 200 x £1 bets. The total takings are £200. £100 will go into the fundraiser and the other £100 becomes the cash prize. Horse 5 wins the race. 20 people bet on horse 5 so the £100 prize pot is split between those 20 people who win £5 each. - Owner’s prize – You have the chance to own a horse (more details below). If your horse wins the race it is allocated to, you will win a prize donated by the race sponsor!
OWN A HORSE
As mentioned we will hold 8 races during the evening. For races 1-7, you can ‘own a horse’ by paying £5. By owning a horse you get to name the horse on the race card and you will be listed in the race card. As a race owner you will have a 1 in 8 chance of winning a prize!
Race 8 horse ownership will be £10 per horse but the prize will be of greater value.
There are 64 horses to own in total. 8 per race. These will be sold on a first come first served basis.
You can apply to ‘own a horse’ on the booking form. We will do a draw prior to the evening to allocate them to a race and then to a number.
FOOD & DRINK
On the evening we will have catering which is included in the price of the ticket. We will have the following options available:
- Battered Cod
- Jumbo Pork Sausage
- Lincolnshire Fishcake
- Vegetable Burger
- Fish Fillet (Gluten Free option)
You can pick one of the above and these will be served with any or all of the following sides:
- Chunky Chips
- Mushy Peas
- Curry Sauce
- Gravy
You must choose your meal option at the time of booking for each person on your booking.
There is a fully stocked bar at the club which will sell a range of soft drinks and alcoholic drinks. Please do not bring any drinks into the club.
WILL THE PLAYERS BE THERE?
YES! We will be joined by a number of this years team on the night!
ANYTHING ELSE?!
We will also be holding a raffle on the night! Some more prizes to be won!
HOW DO I BOOK?
You can book your place now by clicking the button below and filling in all your details. We will reply in order of emails received with your total amount and payment details including your payment reference code which will help us track your payment. Payments must be made by the 7th November to secure your place and food order as this is when we need to submit to the catering team.
