This weekend is a single game weekend for the TSI World Bees as they prepare to face Leeds Knight on Sunday night on home ice.

The Bees are heading into the weekend off the back of a split weekend with Telford Tigers last weekend with both games ending 5-2 in favour of the home team. Josh Smith again missed out last weekend but Bayley Harewood made his return to the line-up.

Saturday saw a complete performance on home ice result in a comprehensive victory for the Bees. Vanya Antonov joined the line up for Saturday’s game and contributed two of the five goals. Josh Martin, James Galazzi and Niklas Ornmarker completed the scoring with Adam Goss making all but two saves asked of him.

On Sunday the goals came from Ornmarker and Dominik Gabaj but the Tigers ran out victors.

Sunday’s opponents were on the end of a home loss to the Raiders last weekend with the Raiders taking just a few seconds of overtime to score their third and the game winning goal. Since our last meeting they have welcomed back starting goaltender Sam Gospel.

It’s a road weekend for the Knights with a trip to Milton Keynes on Saturday ahead of their trip to Slough on Sunday night.

Bees Coach Doug Sheppard spoke of the weekend ahead; “It was good to get a win on home ice last Saturday in front of a good crowd. It was our best game for a little while but I felt we left something on the table in Telford. After Saturday we were looking for something out of Sunday’s game! So with only with the one game this weekend, and that being on our home ice, we definitely need to come out desperate and play the full 60 minutes.”

Bees take on Leeds Knights at Slough Ice Arena this Sunday. Doors open at 4pm and Face-off is at 5pm.
